Wrap Around cartoning machines or carton packers
Wrap Around case packers: cardboard trays are folded around the product laterally closing by four short flaps. It is the model commonly used for transporting bricks (milk, juice, etc.), tiles and, to a lesser extent, bottles (for example, wine).
The cardboard trays are delivered in the form of punched plates which have only transverse and longitudinal slots. This inevitably requires the engagement of the products is performed in automatic lines.
The wrap around packaging is less resistant than the cardboard box so it is suitable for self-supporting or semi self-supporting products. The manufacturer receives the flat packaging and uses automatic lines for the product case packing. Wrap around case packing systems are mainly the following:
- Side case packing. The machine forms the front and back sides of the packaging. Then, the product gets inserted into it laterally. Finally, the lid is closed and the side flaps and gluing tab are glued.
- Top case packing. The packaging base is formed and one or more arms with suction system introduce products inside. It is an appropriate system for breakable containers like jars or glass bottles in flexible packaging products.
